The old brand “Wang Bao He” was firstly established in the ninth year of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (i.e. 1744). It was then a small tavern on Xian’gua Street at the East Entrance of Shanghai, and also one of the earliest restaurants in Shanghai. After relocation for several times, it was finally settled at the current site — crossroad of Fuzhou Road and Zhejiang Road in 1936, and renamed “wine shop”.

After years of efforts and accumulation of experience, the restaurant has gradually built its own brand famous for yellow wine and crab banquet. The originally tavern that served crab that went on with wine has developed into the “Ancestor Wine and King of Crabs” today.

Each of dishes of the Wang Bao He Crab Banquet has a unique style and embodies chefs’ understanding for ingredients. The dishes are characterized by demanding selection, fine cutting skills, light but graceful color, light taste, tenderness, smoothness and deliciousness, and original flavor. The exclusive crab dishes and crab desserts are not only unparalleled delicious, but also unique in model. The model of the delicacy is true to life. The restaurant totally has 13 featured chartered rooms. They are decorated in different styles, but invariably show the customs and folks of regions in the Yangtze River Delta. The restaurant can offer 180 seats totally. It is an ideal choice for business banquet of both guests at home and abroad and gathering of friends.
